Current Announcements Swimming & Lunch Missy has invited us all out to their place for a day of swimming, fellowship, and lunch! Friday, July 11th, from 10:00 a.m. until noon-ish Bring a picnic lunch if you would like. This will take the place of our Friday Park Day for this week. Moms' Night Out Come join us at Applebees on Friday, July 11th, at 7:00 p.m. Skate Day Tuesday, July 22nd, 1-3 p.m. Good Times Skate, Athens I have called the Skating Rink. They are offering new summer hours for their normal admission price of $4.00 per skater (inline skate rental is extra). We are going to take advantage of this cheaper and easier approach by attending on a Tuesday time they are scheduled to be open. During their normal operating hours they will be choosing the music for this skate time. Park Days Park days are from 10 am until 12 pm, each Friday. LSF Victory Boxes We are collecting school supplies and personal hyigene items to be mailed to Lt. James "Donny" Payne in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Donny distributes these items to children as a gesture of goodwill from Americans. To learn more about this project please visit http://victoryboxes.com. HOW TO HELP Donate the following: School supplies being collected: paper, tablets, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, erasers, sharpeners, markers, etc. Personal hyigene items being collected: shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, combs, brushes Donate $8.95 to mail a box Please bring items to LSF during reguarly schedule meeting times or to First State Finance, 300 Madole Street, Athens, TX Thanks so very much Angie and the folks at Living Stone Fellowship for bringing these opportunities to us! 
FOCUS - ACTS is a home schooling support group founded by Christian home educators located in Henderson County and encompassing the surrounding East Texas area. ACTS is committed to providing fun and interesting, social and informational opportunities for home-schooling parents and their children. If you have you been looking for a group that accepts your children no matter what their gifts and talents may be, then you have come to the right place. At ACTS it is what is on the inside that counts; not the clothes you wear, the curriculum you use or the church you attend. If this is what you have been searching for in a home school group then please take some time to check us out! ACTIVITIES - We offer a variety of experiences through ACTS. Here are a few of the events we work to keep on our schedule: Weekly Park Days, Monthly Themed Meetings, Monthly Field Trips, Teachers' Lounge (Mom's Night Out), Mom's Coffee Breaks, Classical Arts Field Trips, and Community Services. ONLINE SUPPORT - We also offer unparalleled fellowship and support through our forum. This is where we Parents/Teachers come for encouragement, to vent frustrations, to seek and give advice, and share news and information about resources available to home-schooling families in our area. COSTS - We are a "No Dues" group. We instead rely upon the service of our group members as each is able to serve. HOW TO JOIN - Because we take our members’ privacy and security seriously membership can only be acquired after a face-to-face meeting with group leadership.
