ACTS is a home schooling support group founded by Christian home educators located in Henderson County and encompassing the surrounding East Texas area. ACTS is committed to providing fun and interesting, social and informational opportunities for home-schooling parents and their children.
If you have you been looking for a group that accepts your children no matter what their gifts and talents may be, then you have come to the right place. At ACTS it is what is on the inside that counts; not the clothes you wear, the curriculum you use or the church you attend. Activites:
We offer a variety of experiences through ACTS. Here are a few of the events we work to keep on our schedule: Weekly Park Days, Monthly Themed Meetings, Monthly Field Trips, Teachers' Lounge (Mom's Night Out), Mom's Coffee Breaks, Classical Arts Field Trips, and Community Services.
Online Support:
We also offer unparalleled fellowship and support through our forum. This is where we Parents/Teachers come for encouragement, to vent frustrations, to seek and give advice, and share news and information about resources available to home-schooling families in our area.
Meetings:
Second Tuesday of each month, 10-12pm at Living Stones Fellowship.
Cost:
We are a "No Dues" group. We instead rely upon the service of our group members as each is able to serve.
Our focus is on the needs, concerns and interests of home-schoolers in our community through helping to educate and lead them in participation in individual projects, meetings, group activities, and contests.
Meetings:
Second Tuesday of each month, 1-3pm at Living Stones Fellowship.
Cost:
No Membership Fees. Costs vary according to level of project participation.
CROSS is a volunteer organization that provides a variety of learning experiences to enhance our children's lives. This co-op is for homeschooling families with at least one childn that is instructed pre-kindergarten or higher grades. In order to participate, a parent must teach or assist during the class day. Required statement of faith, waiver, and commitment form.
Meetings:
Two semesters: fall (September - November); spring (January - April) Summer planning meetings: June, July, August Weekly classes, field trips, family programs, field days, graduation, God's World weekly reader series (group rate), quality yearbook created by students, school-type picture packages

ACE based. LSFEC is a cooperative of families coming together to support one another, and providing mentorship with homeschooling needs. LSFEC also enjoys group directed unit studies and community service opportunities.
Meetings & Cost:

Smoothing the Way is a group which meets monthly to help new home-schoolers. It covers a relevant topic and has time for discussion with experienced home-schoolers.
Sonflower Girls was created by a home-schooling mom, for home-schooling girls ages 5-15. We provide an opportunity for young ladies to complete various crafts while having fellowship with other home-schooling girls. We meet once per month on the fourth Friday of every month between September and May, taking the summer off to be with our families.
Meetings:
Second & Fourth Fridays of each month, 2-4pm.
Cost:
Membership dues are paid annually and are as follows: 1 child: $15.00, 2 children: $25.00, 3 children or more: $30.00. Meeting Dues: $2.00 per meeting. Handbooks: $6.00.
